When dental disease and poor oral function make it necessary to remove all your remaining teeth in either your upper or lower jaw, you do not have to worry about wearing uncomfortable removable dentures or “plates”. In many cases, we can remove the remaining teeth and place four to six implants in the same day, which can be used to support and retain replacement teeth. Dr. Andrew Bluhm, Dr. Steve Dorsch or Dr. Gene Vandervort will work with your restorative dentist and a dental lab technician to provide life-changing outcomes.

After the dental implants are placed, they are tested for initial stability. If the implants are adequately stable, a temporary prosthesis which replaces the teeth can be placed on the implants on the same day. During the next four to six months, the patient will be limited to soft foods, but will be able to function with his or her new teeth immediately. This eliminates the need for conventional dentures which can be uncomfortable to wear and difficult to function with.

Once the implants have fully integrated, they will be checked and your dentist will be able to make the final prosthesis, which will be made of a stronger material designed to function with normal chewing. You will be able to eat any foods and smile with confidence!

The number of implants and the amount of time required for each appointment is different for each patient. Regardless of the number of teeth replaced, our work will be completed with great precision and attention to detail.
